Wendigo Creature Explorations

I was doing some different concepts related to the Aboriginal mythological creature, the Wendigo.

It's description from Wikipedia:

"The wendigo is part of the traditional belief system of a number of Algonquin-speaking peoples, including the Ojibwe, the Saulteaux, the Cree, the Naskapi, and the Innu people. Although descriptions can vary somewhat, common to all these cultures is the view that the wendigo is a malevolent, cannibalistic, supernatural being. They were strongly associated with winter, the north, coldness, famine, and starvation."

I interpreted these elements of cannibalism and murder into a series of fast creature explorations. All three pieces combined took 2hr 30min. I wanted to test myself and see what I could come up with without any references/research, so I only read up on the monster after completing the three images from my own memory and imagination. It was a fun challenge!

Very rough exploration, just thinking about silhouettes and forms. Deer-like antlers, overgrown arms, blueish glow.

Second image, the long hair of the impaled skull atop the head of the monster was especially chilling and interesting to render out.

Tried to move away from the ethereal with my last exploration, so I went in the gory horror direction instead. I imagined the heads of the victims constantly crying out. In this version the monster leaves a trail of viscera wherever he goes.
